Earlier, in June 2023, a similar operation led to over 20 arrests, including a Miami man charged with human trafficking after allegedly bringing a woman to metro Atlanta for sex work. Four women were identified as victims during this sting.
In December 2022, a prostitution sting in Coweta County resulted in 14 arrests and the rescue of three potential human trafficking victims. The operation targeted both buyers and sellers, aiming to identify and assist victims.
Fayette County Operations
In March 2021, a coordinated effort by multiple law enforcement agencies in Fayetteville and Peachtree City led to 21 arrests during a human trafficking investigation. The operation, conducted at two hotels, resulted in charges of prostitution, pimping, and drug offenses. Authorities interviewed the women involved to determine if they were trafficking victims.
These operations underscore the ongoing commitment of local law enforcement to combat human trafficking and provide support to victims in Coweta and Fayette counties.
